Llanilid Church is the oldest church in the area and is approximately
half a mile outside the boundaries of Pencoed, to the east of the town
in a beautiful country setting.
Access to the church is by a drive across the “Rector’s Field”.
Parts of the church are believed to date before the Norman Conquest.
The church was renovated in Victorian times, and has recently undergone
interior refurbishment.
Alongside the church are the remains of an early Norman motte.
